How to Read Product Labels

Taking proper care of your skin is so important! Today, many companies are replacing natural ingredients in their skincare products with harmful chemicals that are proven to cause cancer and skin conditions. With that being said, we suggest reading your product labels before making a purchase!

Below are some of the basics about skincare labels:

1. Products listed

Products are listed in descending order from the largest amount of product to the least

2. Disguised products

Many ingredients are listed as a different name

3. Marketing techniques

Many companies use different techniques to make their products stand out; for example, "dermatologist recommended"

4. Oils

Make sure you are choosing products with natural oils that are beneficial for the skin. Avoid petroleum based (mineral) oils! They clog your pores and contain impurities.

5. Natural botanicals

These are great for your skin! Natural herbs such as lavender and green tea moisturize and nourish.

6. Colorants

Many colorants are proven to cause cancer. Look out for natural colorants that are plant based!
